UNIABUJA SETS UP CENTRE FOR SPONSORED PROJECTS

In a bid to enhance the advancement of research in the University, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, has established the Centre for Sponsored Projects (CSP).
The Centre, which replaces the Research Grant Unit, is headed by Professor Obiageli E Nnodu of the Department of Haematology, College of Health Sciences, University of Abuja. According to the letter of appointment signed by the Registrar, Malam Yahaya Mohammed, Professor Nnodu will direct the affairs of the Centre for two years, in the first instance. Nnodu said, "The Centre for Sponsored Project of the University will provide support to increase the capacity of researchers in the University to access available funds nationally and internationally to carry out research for national development.

"The CSP, by supporting application for research grants and managing the grants in a  transparent manner will  enhance the  advancement of research for national development by the University." She added that the University would welcome research partnerships with individuals, agencies and institutions "who want to take advantage of the University’s strong faculty and strategic location, its access to decision makers for implementation of research findings to policy, to contact the CSP to accelerate this process."
